BYFIELD SPRAYER AND TECHNOLOGY EVENT

This year our sprayer event was held

at the new site of our future Byfield

depot. A big thank you to all those

who took the time out to attend

and a personal thank you to Robert

Geldard from Pentair/Hypro and

James Waterhouse from BASF for

their inputs on the day.

The days training was registered

with NRoSO and Basis for operators

to collect points. Specialists from

Deere were also on hand to assist

with questions.

The event consisted of 5 stations,

each 30 mins covering a range of

topics.

Station 1:

Luke Ward discussed the benefits

of machine telematics (JD Link) and

new added features all supported

by the connected sprayer package.

Participants were shown the

function and advantages of wireless

data transfer (WDT) and remote

display access (RDA) live and had the

opportunity to have a go themselves.

Station 2:

James Waterhouse presented a BASF

station starting with a introduction

to the company followed by a talk

on Clearfield, a unique system for

oilseed rape that combines hybrid

seed varieties and high quality BASF

herbicides for the most effective way

to approach weed control in OSR.

Using

conventional

breeding

techniques, seed varieties have been

developed to tolerate Clearfield

herbicides, so by applying a

Clearfield herbicide like Cleranda or

Cleravo (hyperlink to product pages)

to a Clearfield seed variety, OSR can

thrive as weeds wither and die.

Station 3:

Robert Geldard presented a Nozzle

technology station showcasing

the advances in nozzle design. The

recent partnership with Deere and

our Horst sprayer factory in the

Netherlands, and discussed and

demonstrated the new line up of

branded nozzles from Deere the only

sprayer manufacture globally to have

their own nozzles.

Station 4:

Jon Edwards carried out a walk

around of the superb new R962i

PowrSpray trailed sprayer. Speed of

filling at 1200Lpm on tractor idle

and active pause for time to add

chemicals via the PowrFill inductor

were demonstrated.

Station 5:

Finally I finished with guided tour

around of our very own Demo

R4040i self propelled sprayer before

inviting customers to a ride or drive

in the field.
